Vietnamese Civil Aviation Administration Chief Inspector, Nguyen Trong Thang, commented: "They should have registered (with us) before they held the show. This is the first time an airline has organised a bikini dance aboard a flight in Vietnam." The show, called 'Hawaiian dance performance', was meant to celebrate VietJet Air's inagurual flight to the seaside city of Da Nang. The airline's representative said: "It was the first flight to a beach town, so we came up with the idea of getting a number of girls in bikinis to dance." The dancers were local beauty pageants, participating at the 'Miss Ngoi Sao' contest organized by Ngoi Sao online newspaper.
