bmibaby, BMI's budget airline, announced last June it will be shutting down operations on 9th September, due to British Airways' purchase of BMI from Lufthansa. Today, it's last flight touched down at East Midlands Airport. Bye bye bmibaby!

Brad Miller, East Midlands Airport Managing Director told the local newspaper: "The majority of bmibaby's routes are either operated by existing airlines or tour operators at the airport, or they've been replaced by Monarch or through Flybe and Jet2's expansion plans."
