Ash clouds, airline strikes and collapses, travel insurance has never been such a hot topic. The recent news report of newlywed Carrie-Anne Dudbridge, who fell from a hotel balcony on her honeymoon and broke her back, was left stranded because her European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), known as the E111, didn't cover the £16,000 cost of flying home, so we would like to know if you think travel insurance is worth it or not.

We asked you to choose between the following answers:

  • I never take out travel insurance
  • I don't have travel insurance but I do have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
  • I take out travel insurance for trips outside the EU only
  • I always travel with insurance
