A Manx2 aircraft en route from Belfast City Airport to Cork Airport crashed at the airfield as it was attempting to land. Fire crews immediately responded to the incident and Cork Airport’s emergency plan was instigated. It was reported that it was the aircraft's third attempt at landing in foggy conditions. The aircraft was carrying 10 passengers and two crew members. Regrettably, there have been six fatalities as a result of the incident and six survivors have been taken to hospital. The main route to the airport is closed in order to provide an easier access to the emergency vehicles.
