Part of the Jungfrau ski region, Grindelwald lies at the foot of the towering Eiger Mountain. This pretty, traditional-looking village boasts spectacular scenery, a friendly welcoming atmosphere and countless activities off the slopes. The Grindelwald slopes are the village's designated ski area, and the pistes here offer both breathtaking scenery and skiing to challenge all ability levels. The plethora of alternatives across the rest of the Jungfrau region can all be reached by gondola and rail links.
Grindelwald's scenery enhances the superb walking trails and Europe's longest toboggan run. The village has the liveliest après ski of all three Jungfrau resorts, though still has a relatively relaxed atmosphere. Although families with small children may find some of the lifts a little slow and travelling times a little long, the ski schools and childcare in Grindelwald are excellent. This picturesque Swiss ski resort offers a good range of skiing and non-skiing activities and a relaxed atmosphere.
