The whole resort sits significantly high above sea level, making snow conditions excellent. Although some people may struggle with the rapid change in air pressure, altitude sickness is sometimes reported, Breckenridge certainly benefits from its location. Off the slopes, there are plenty of alternative activities to enjoy here - all in view of the beautiful surrounding peaks. Après ski offered in Breckenridge is amongst the best in the area - eating out is particularly good and supremely varied. Nearest airports Denver

A nice introduction to skiing in Colorado, Breckenridge is a former mining town that has developed into an attractive ski resort. This friendly, relaxed Colorado ski resort is framed by a breathtaking view of four surrounding peaks. Much of the original architecture remains, whilst new buildings have been added in a similar style, giving Breckenridge a traditional charm.
