We will be publishing full results of the survey soon, but in the mean time here are a few examples of what you told us (if you have any examples of your own, please leave them as a comment at the end of the article): " I had one suitcase 1kg over limit and one 1kg under, and I was made to spend 10 minutes with a queue behind me rearranging the contents, removing nothing, until both cases were exactly the correct weight – upon which they were unceremoniously dumped together on to the conveyor belt for conveyance to the hold. " " While booking a flight with AirBaltic, I had to pay for checked baggage. During the reservation, I could choose how many bags I would like to take, each costing 20 Euros. I chose two and thought I could take two bags where one could weigh max 20kg. At the airport, I was told that the combined weight of the baggage cannot exceed 20kg. One customer could check-in maximum of five bags. Who would like to pay 100 Euros for five bags each weighing 4kg? Ridiculous! It was just confusing and a way to trick customers and then charge them for extra kilos. " " I was due to fly Ryanair Beauvais to Dublin. It was the last flight of the night. I checked my bags on to a Ryanair flight, passed security, etc., when we discovered that Ryanair had cancelled the flight! All the Ryanair staff had gone home, leaving us stranded with no explanation. I had to spend the night on the floor of the airport! " " Ryanair charged me for 200g excess. " " Easyjet said they had too much weight in the plane and if I would be willing to not take my suitcase... on holiday... " " I had to open my luggage to take 1kg of clothes out which I then carried – what’s the logic? " " I queued 1.5hrs for an Easyjet flight. When it was my turn, the desk was closed down. In a recent budget airlines survey, one of the questions was "what is the worst / most ridiculous thing that has happened to you when you have been checking in your baggage".
