"I have been intrigued for some time by the differences of the route structures between the budget airlines and the mainstream carriers. Not only have the budget carriers opened an era of very cheap travel, they have also opened up some amazing destinations that most people probably do not know exist. As a school leaver I wanted to be a travel agent but instead found myself doing a university degree in Politics follwed by a postgraduate qualification in Information Science, but a five year spell as a travel agent did follow later! As I now have my own business I have the flexibility to take frequent short breaks and from London we fortunately have several budget carriers with extensive European networks and I take the opportunity to travel on them as often as I can. I have been to Malaysia and Indonesia a couple of times and now I will have to become more familiar with the destinations and route networks of the Far East."

"I am a 45 year old Dane and live in Denmark. As a boy I lived in Greenland and got to fly a lot by plane and helicopter. Later on I mostly travelled on motorbike and by car. Today my wife Liss and I have our own small business which makes us travel to several European countries, mostly the Netherlands and Switzerland. This first half of 2004 we have been in Nice with Sterling (twice), in Stockholm with Nordic Airlink, in Rotterdam with Basiq Air (twice)(and once by car), in Berlin by car and in Zurich twice - with SAS and by car :-(, next time we go to Switzerland we will use Cimber Air to Basel. Prior to 2004 we have not been travelling much by air, so it is only recently that I discovered the budget airlines, and now that I have found WhichBudget.com it is so much easier to find the cheapest fares. I'm glad to be an editor with WhichBudget.com and look forward to dig deeper into the world of no frills airlines to the benefit of other budget travellers." Erik has translated WhichBudget into Danish.

I have always made it a high priority to see who's flying where and when to help out clients. In fact I found your site when I was looking for cheap flights CPH to AMS. The cheapest full published was about $800AUD but I found Basiq Air for about $150AUD. My clients loved me for it. What can I say!!! Only 4 years old in the industry though. Before that I spent almost 20 years working as a translator and interpretor for the Japanese Inbound Market here on the Gold Coast. I desperatly needed a change and voila! Here I am."

"I'm not a contemporary Don Quixote fighting with the individual road vehicles, I just happen to value very much all forms of public transport. Despite the economy rules are making public conveyance clearly too expensive and some inertia or laziness of human nature is also prompting many to prefer roads and private cars over rail and even air travel, the overall potential and efficiency of public networks remains superior to me. It is hard to accept the extent to what European railways have been underused or even abandoned while at the same time heavy lorries are blocking our roads, it is unwise to tolerate half-empty planes on our skies, with fares too costly to lure the passengers. I want to back the efforts on the way to make public transport less expensive and more popular. Budget airlines' contribution to putting it into practice is of great value to me."
